The amazing all-inclusive beach resort Secrets Royal Beach in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic underwent a $36 Million dollar face lift over the course of the shutdown from Covid19.
Secrets Royal Beach Punta Cana opened their doors this week to celebrate providing a first-hand view of the sprawling beach resort. The resort now features 639 rooms with 90 new additions. three new restaurants, two new pools with one being a super-sized 52 metre Olympic pool with tropical theme.
“This pandemic has hit us all very hard but we have done our homework and this is reflected in the data that we have,” says Luis Abinader Corona, President of the Dominican Republic.
"Since August, we’ve had strict health protocols that’s certified by world-class authorities. Today, our country is a very safe country for tourists. Our government has put in place all the mechanisms that we have at our disposal so that all tourists from around the world can come and enjoy a unique experience.”
The Dominican Republic is seeing a rebound and recovering from what was a devastating blow to their economy in terms of tourist dollars.
They are now seeing flights coming in to their beach destinations with over 130 flights per week. The flights are about 60% booked which is very encouraging.
“Every tourist visiting a hotel in the Dominican Republic will have a traveller assistance plan that, in addition to including health coverage, covers the cost of changing flights and prolonged stays in the event of a positive test,” said the President. “No other country in the world is taking a similar action to protect and take care of their visitors. We are leaders in this sector, and this is why 98 out of 100 tourists think they will return to our destination.”
